About me

Me

I was born and raised in Istanbul Turkey.  After finishing high school, I ended up in Flower Mound Texas in 1986.  Back in 1986, FloMo was a quaint little suburb of Dallas. Having lived in a city of 10+ million people all my life, FloMo was a culture shock to a 17 year old.

I went to U of North TX and met the wife there and got stuck in the good ol’ USA. I am now a certified American. I guess that makes me one of those people with the hyphen in their pedigree: Turkish-American.

My wife and I have 2 great kids and live in FloMo. I still like where we live although lately it’s getting a little bit crowded. I am one of those people who complain about “growth” after they move in to the little town they live in. “I am here now, stop building more shit”. Yeah, that’s me.

I am a pretty liberal person although little by little as I get older I find myself saying or doing things that seem conservative, the latest act of republican sin being the proud owner of a gas guzzling F.U.V, I mean S.U.V (not my car, the wife’s, I drive a gas sniffing VW).

I love soccer, and play in the North Texas Premiere Soccer Assoc. I coach my kids’ soccer teams as well. I try to play golf and stink it up well. I don’t play golf with anyone I would not trust embarrassing myself in front of.

This blog is a random compilation of our lives and some of the funny stuff that happens to me. And yes, I rant a lot about insignificant stuff and sometimes I use profanity.   If it offends you, please click the little “x” on the top right corner.
