Short Horn camp
Aydin is starting middle school! I don’t know when that happened really. It has not sunk in yet. I think I realized it this weekend when he told me he does not want me to do his hair anymore. He has his own style now. I guess I am gonna have to let him have his own style. I asked him “what’s wrong with the way I’ve been doing it?” and his response was “I don’t like it anymore”. That stung a little. I guess he could do worse things than style his own hair so I take this to be another growing pain for parents.
We did mess with him this afternoon though. I was preparing garbanzo beans and he asked me “what’s that”. I said, “squirrel testicles”. He was mortified. I popped a few of the beans in my mouth to see what would happen and as I expected he gagged a little. I offered him some money to try one, knowing he’d do it for money since he is saving for “Rock Band”. He tried one but could swallow it. He up-chucked it into the sink. I was not going to tell him the truth but Dawn told him what they really are. He still would not touch them.
